WEEK 03____

TRAILOR SCENARIO:

For my  trailer and scene theme I have come up with the idea that a plague has stuck killing the entire human race.. well nearly everyone! Due to one of the chemicals found in heroin all of the heroin junkies have survived. The junkies have taken over the houses however they still live like degenerates - creating indoor bonfires, graffiti, living in filth and all other junky characteristics. Eventually, anarchy along with there strung out states (as they cant get anymore heroin) gets the better of them and they all die. One hundred years later the house they were squatting in is left in decay as nature has taken over.

Here are some reference images of abandoned/decayed buildings that caught my eye. These images all show the failure of construction systems and evidence of decay within the materials over time.
Concrete used in this building has large cracks and water marks leading me to believe there was a flood or hurricane. Moss is growing throughout the buildings.

Timber floor boards are brittle and reduced to ash. Paint has been burnt off the walls. Glass windows have disappeared. The decay is evident, yet it looks as though the building has been cleaned up - thus is probably not abandoned

Moss has taken over the interiors. Paints has peeled off the walls. Corrosion is evident in the floor and walls.

Snow storm. The concete building looks to be holding its form relatively well. Slight markings and cracks are evident on the exterior surface.

The reinforced concrete of this floor has failed exposing the reinforced metal that should be holding the concrete in place. Tree roots have evidently mixed into the materal.

Errosion and collapse of this brick building. It remnants of a framed window looks to show that this could have been created by a hurricane - causing the window to break and consequently destroying the exterior wall. The interior rendering has all but come off leaving the possibility of flooding as a cause.

Brick building has been destroyed probably due to hurricane. The impact of the distaster seemed to flow within a cross direction of the building as the extending walls have all collapsed. Moss is creeping up the walls and paints/rendering is peeling suggesting flooding.

Bloating of flooring and moss illustrates that this building probably suffered during a flor.

This is an interesting construction failure and shows how not everything disaster is logical - it looks as though a hurricane has swept through hitting one side of the house and consequently destroying its structure. What is great however is the construction strength of the building to withstand lobsided.

This building looks as though it went up in flames - evident int he charcoal walls and peeled paint. Burned timber floor boards.
